ANDRE DAVIS FROM HEATHCOTE SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY OFFENSES IN WARWICK
In August 2013, a man from Warwick, identified as Andre Davis, faced serious criminal charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children. Davis, aged 61 and residing on Reignier Place in Heathcote, was brought before the court following an investigation that uncovered his involvement in these disturbing activities. He was found guilty of five counts of making indecent images of children, along with two counts of possessing extreme pornographic material. The severity of his actions prompted the court to impose a substantial sentence, which included a three-year community order and a three-year supervision order. These measures are designed to monitor his behavior and ensure he remains under supervision for a significant period.
Furthermore, Andre Davis was mandated to participate in a community sex offenders programme, a rehabilitative step aimed at reducing the risk of reoffending. The court also ordered him to remain on the sex offenders register for seven years, a legal requirement that ensures ongoing monitoring and public safety.
In addition to these penalties, a Sexual Offences Prevention Order was issued, granting authorities the authority to access any computer or electronic device Davis uses. This order is intended to prevent further offenses and to facilitate ongoing surveillance of his online activities.
Prior to his sentencing, Davis indicated his intention to plead guilty to all seven charges during a hearing at Leamington Magistrates Court on July 19. Following this, he was released on conditional bail, with strict instructions not to contact or associate with any child under the age of 16 until his sentencing at Warwick Crown Court.
Commenting on the case, Detective Constable Sean Tonelli emphasized the role of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre in bringing the matter to light. He stated, “This case was brought to the attention of Warwickshire Police by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre which gather intelligence on those who download or share indecent images of children.
“Anybody who downloads or shares indecent images of children through the internet will always leave some form of a trail and when this is identified enforcement action will always be taken.”
