ALUN CLEARY FROM BELLEEK ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE SEX OFFENSE CHARGES

Alun Cleary, a 38-year-old resident of Main Street in Belleek, has been taken into custody following his recent arrest on several serious charges related to breaches of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).

Cleary, who is a convicted sex offender, is accused of violating the restrictions imposed on him by allegedly engaging in activities that the order explicitly forbids. The charges include five counts of breaching the SOPO, which was originally issued after his previous convictions for sexual offenses. The alleged breaches reportedly occurred on May 31 and involve accessing the social media platform Telegram, a popular messaging app often used for private communication.

In addition to the breaches related to social media, Cleary faces four counts of possessing a storage device that was not approved or authorized, raising concerns about the potential for illicit content or unauthorized data storage. Furthermore, he is charged with possessing an indecent image of a child, a serious offense that underscores the gravity of the allegations against him.

Details surrounding the circumstances of these alleged offenses were not disclosed during the brief hearing at Enniskillen Magistrates Court.
