ENNISKILLEN KIDNAPPING AND RAPE ACCUSED DENIED BAIL
An Enniskillen man has been refused bail after he allegedly imprisoned, assaulted and raped a man over the span of a day.Alioune Sow (20) from Belmore Street was charged with two counts of rape, false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm, kidnapping to commit a sexual offence, wounding, theft and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to cause serious injury.
The allegations date back to May 11, and Sow has been kept on remand in Hydebank since then.
The court was told Sow entered the complainant's room and began assaulting him, slapping him and kicking him, before dragging him into his own room and threatening him with a knife, demanding oral sex.
The assault continued for hours, with Sow cutting the man with the knife and forcing him to perform oral and anal sex.
Sow was later arrested, with police recovering the knives used.
The detective noted Sow's extensive prior criminal record of 38 previous convictions, including assaults and burglary.
The judge ruled Sow was not suitable for bail, citing fears of reoffending, risk to the public and witnesses, and a flight risk.
The case will return to Omagh Magistrates Court on February 3, 2026.
