ALFRED HENRY FROM HESSET CAUGHT WITH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND EXTREME IMAGES IN IPSWICH
In a disturbing case brought before Ipswich Crown Court, Alfred Henry, a 77-year-old man from Hessett, faced serious allegations related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children, as well as the possession of extreme pornography involving a sexual act with a horse.Henry, who previously served as a police officer with Essex Police for three decades, was confronted with the shocking evidence found at his residence. The court was informed that during a police search of his home on Hubbards Lane, Hessett, on December 22, authorities uncovered a significant collection of illicit material. Specifically, they discovered 526 indecent images of children stored on a computer, alongside an additional 282 printed photographs of similar content.
Prosecutor Robert Sadd detailed the findings, noting that the majority of the images were classified as being at the lower end of the severity scale. However, he emphasized that two of the images were of the most extreme and disturbing type, highlighting the gravity of the offenses.
Henry admitted to two counts of making indecent photographs of children and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a horse. In his defense, Andrew Shaw, representing Henry, acknowledged that the defendant’s life had been marred by tragedy, including the loss of his first wife and the premature death of his son. Shaw stated, “Whilst providing no excuse for the looking at pornographic images of children, they do provide some explanation as to why he turned to such circumstances to looking at images of this type.”
As part of his sentencing, Henry was ordered to complete a community order, which requires him to remain under the supervision of the probation service for the next three years. Additionally, he is mandated to participate in an internet sex offender rehabilitation program. Furthermore, Henry will be registered on the Sexual Offences Register for the next five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities related to sexual offenses. The case underscores the ongoing concerns about individuals with past law enforcement backgrounds involved in serious criminal behavior related to child exploitation and extreme pornography.
