MAN JAILED FOR RAPE
A man has received a prison sentence after being convicted of raping a woman in Stoke-on-Trent.Alfie Tilsley, 22 years old and without a fixed address, appeared before Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday (16 June).
He was sentenced to five and a half years in prison after admitting to the crime of rape that took place in the Bucknall area in January this year.
The female victim reported that Tilsley assaulted her sexually and then threatened her to prevent her from reporting the incident.
She displayed courage in coming forward, prompting authorities to take appropriate action.
Tilsley was detained by the police a few days later.
Initially denying the charges, he later pleaded guilty during the first day of his scheduled trial.
In addition to his prison sentence, Tilsley was issued a restraining order.
Upon his release, he will be required to regularly report to his local police station under the terms set out by the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
