A disturbing case of sexual exploitation and human trafficking has come to light in Dundee, where a Romanian grooming gang was convicted of abusing and coercing ten vulnerable women. The group, comprised of four men and one woman, was found guilty of numerous serious offences, including multiple counts of rape, after an extensive investigation into their criminal activities within the Tayside region.
Among those convicted are Marian Cumpanasoiu, aged 37; Remus Stan, aged 34; Catalin Dobre, aged 44; Cristian Urlateanu, aged 41; and Alexandra Bugonea, aged 34. All five individuals denied any involvement or wrongdoing during the trial held at the High Court in Glasgow. Despite their denials, the jury found them guilty of the charges after a detailed and lengthy legal process.
