HULL MAN ALEXANDER MARSH JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULT ON PARTNER
Alexander Marsh, 24, of Kirkstone Road, Hull, was convicted after a trial before Hull magistrates and committed to Hull Crown Court for sentence.
The court heard that Marsh and the woman had been in a relationship for nine months, but it began to sour, leading to a series of violent incidents.
Marsh was jailed for 21 months and received a five-year restraining order.
The assault involved slamming her head into a wall, causing her to pass out with concussion, and violently banging her head against a wall during a drink-fuelled attack.
The woman described feeling very intimidated by Marsh's looks and expressed difficulty coping with the violence and its impact on her mental health.
Her daughter begged Marsh to stop during the altercation, describing the incident as 'appalling' and 'awful,' and later witnessing her mother being left dazed and calling for help.
Marsh, who previously expressed remorse, has no previous convictions and admitted to the assault, which was seen as an isolated event.
