NEWTOWN MAN WHO STALKED HIS BROTHER WILL BE SENTENCED
A Newtown man who stalked his brother will be sentenced in the New Year.
Alexander Day, of Llanllwchaiarn Road, admitted stalking, involving serious alarm or distress to Luke Matthew Day, when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (December 16).
The court was told how Day had messaged his brother and visited his home between September 6 and November 27, this year.
Prosecutor, Helen Tench, said: "The victim stopped contact with his brother some years ago due to his violent and unpredictable behaviour.
Geraint Parry, defending, asked magistrates to delay sentencing so that a pre-sentence report could be completed.
Magistrates agreed and said the matter would return to the court for sentencing.
At that time he will also be sentenced for sending threatening messages in which he asked for a Dyfed-Powys police officer in Newtown on October 25, so he could murder him, which Day had previously pleaded guilty to.
Day, 33, was granted conditional bail until the sentencing hearing on January 20.
