VICTIMS PRAISED AS SERIAL CHILD RAPIST JAILED

A man who raped and sexually assaulted three children has been jailed for 21 years.

On the first day of a trial in July, Alex Fullard, 31, of no fixed address, admitted 15 sexual offences, including rape and sexual assault.

During sentencing at Hull Crown Court on Monday, he was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and was told he would be on the sex offenders register for life.

After the hearing, Det Con Jack Somers thanked the victims for helping the Humberside Police investigation, adding: "I admire the courageousness of the three victims and their families for taking that first step in coming forward." Fullard initially pleaded guilty to four sexual offences but while awaiting sentencing, police said more information came to light.

After investigations, he was charged with additional crimes.

Fullard pleaded guilty to five counts of rape of a child under 13, two counts of attempted rape of a child under 13 and three counts of rape.

He also admitted causing and inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity and four counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.

In 2021, two women reported that Fullard had raped and sexually assaulted them when they were children and said the abuse continued into adulthood.

Humberside Police said, following their initial report, the women did not feel ready to become involved in investigations.
