ALEWYN WILLIAMS FELINDRE PAEDOPHILE PREDATOR SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN SWANSEA COURT
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Felindre and the surrounding areas, Aled Wyn Williams, a 31-year-old man from Cwmbran Farm, Drefach, Felindre, has been sentenced to six years in prison for a series of heinous child abuse crimes. The court proceedings, held at Swansea Crown Court, revealed the extent of Williams' criminal activities, which included a wide range of offenses related to child exploitation and abuse.Williams was considered such a significant threat that the presiding judge imposed the maximum allowable period of extended licence following his release from prison. This extension means that even after serving his sentence, Williams will remain under supervision and could be recalled to custody until March 2015 if deemed necessary. The court also mandated that Williams register as a sex offender for life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities to protect the community.
Furthermore, Williams is permanently barred from working with children, and he is prohibited from loitering within 200 yards of any school or educational facility. He is also forbidden from associating with anyone under the age of 16 unless under direct supervision. Additionally, he is restricted from accessing the internet unless it is strictly for his employment purposes, aiming to prevent further online exploitation.
Williams appeared before Swansea Crown Court on a Friday, where he pleaded guilty to two sets of charges. The first set comprised 16 counts involving indecent assault, indecency, and attempted buggery. It was alleged that he assaulted four different boys, with some of these acts being recorded on video by Williams himself. These recordings added a disturbing dimension to the case, illustrating the extent of his criminal behavior.
The second set of charges involved the possession of a staggering 5,252 pornographic images of children on his computer. The court was informed that some of these images depicted actual acts of abuse involving children as young as a few months old, highlighting the severity and depravity of his crimes.
During the sentencing, Williams' barrister, Dyfed Thomas, attempted to provide some context, stating that his client was both a homosexual and a paedophile, but he emphasized that Williams now understood the difference between the two. Thomas also clarified that Williams had not actively requested images of babies but had received such material along with other illicit images.
Judge Price did not hold back in condemning Williams, describing him as a 'paedophile predator' who posed a significant and ongoing risk to children. The judge's remarks underscored the gravity of the crimes committed and the danger Williams represented to society, leading to the stringent sentencing and restrictions imposed to safeguard the community from further harm.
