Milton Keynes Denmead Child Sexual Abuser
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Denmead and Milton Keynes, Alan Stewart, a man with a disturbing history of child sexual abuse, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his heinous crimes. Stewart, a former Royal Navy sailor who served in the Falklands War, was found guilty of abusing three young boys over a span of more than two decades, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior that persisted despite his outwardly respectable appearance.

Stewart’s criminal activities came to light after one of his victims, now in his 30s, decided to report the abuse to the police. The man had confided in his fiancée about the traumatic experiences he endured as a child back in 1998, but it was not until 2008 that he felt ready to come forward and seek justice. His account prompted an investigation that ultimately led to Stewart’s arrest at his residence in Milton Keynes.

The abuse took place at different locations, beginning in Stewart’s home on Field Way in Denmead, where he assaulted two boys under the age of 10 between 1979 and 1984. Despite his involvement in the community—volunteering as a driver for the elderly and working for Reliance Security in Portsmouth—Stewart’s true nature was that of a manipulative predator. After relocating to Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, he continued his pattern of abuse, targeting a boy under 13 between 2004 and 2005.

During the trial at Portsmouth Crown Court, Stewart, aged 63 and residing on Coffee Hall Lane in Milton Keynes, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, two counts of indecent assault, and one additional sexual offense. However, after a six-day hearing, the jury found him guilty on all six counts.

Judge Ian Pearson delivered a stern sentence, condemning Stewart’s actions as a calculated effort to infiltrate families and exploit the trust placed in him. The judge emphasized the prolonged nature of the abuse and the gross betrayal of trust involved, stating, “What you did was worm your way into families and then you abused. Having targeted young boys, you abused them over a period of some years.”

Detective Constable Elaine Cawkill of Hampshire Constabulary highlighted the importance of justice, asserting, “This result is an example that no matter how old the crime, the law will always eventually catch up with offenders and justice will be served. Hampshire Constabulary will continue to investigate criminal cases such as this one with the same diligence and professionalism, which will lead to more convictions for those who perpetrate these kind of horrific sexual offences, no matter where or when they occur.”

As part of his sentence, Stewart is required to register as a sex offender, is subject to a Sex Offenders Prevention Order, and is disqualified from working with children. His case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to bring justice to victims of sexual abuse, regardless of how much time has passed since the crimes occurred.
