Crickhowell Sexual Abuser
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Crickhowell, Alan Roberts, a man with a troubling criminal history, has admitted to downloading indecent images of children. The incident came to light during a routine police visit to his flat located on Crickhowell High Street in June of the previous year. During this visit, officers discovered four explicit photographs depicting minors, which led to further investigations into Roberts' activities.

Alan Roberts, aged 40, is a registered sex offender who previously served time in prison in 2006 for a serious sexual offence involving two children—one boy and one girl. His past crimes have cast a long shadow over his current case, which has now taken a new turn with the recent charges.

In December, Roberts pleaded guilty to 14 charges related to the downloading of indecent images of children. Additionally, he faced a charge of possessing these 14 images. The police findings and his subsequent admission have prompted a court appearance scheduled for February 7th at Merthyr Crown Court.

Owain Jones, representing Roberts, stated in his defense, "He made no attempt to conceal what he was looking at. In his first police interview, he admitted downloading 50 images. He is remorseful and it is his intention to seek help." The case continues to develop as the legal proceedings move forward, highlighting the ongoing concerns surrounding the safety of children and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in such cases.
