ALAN HARDIE FROM FINCOUNTRYSIDE CONVICTED OF CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN DUNDEE
In a significant legal development, Alan Hardie, a resident of Fintryside, Dundee, has been found guilty of serious child sexual offences committed during the 1990s.The case was heard at the High Court in Edinburgh, where the 60-year-old man faced multiple charges related to his alleged misconduct involving minors.
Hardie was accused of engaging in a series of disturbing acts against children in Dundee, specifically at an address in the Downfield area.
The charges stemmed from incidents that purportedly took place between January 1991 and August 1993.
According to the court proceedings, Hardie was convicted of performing lewd, libidinous, and indecent acts in front of a child, which included a sexual act that he carried out in the presence of the young victim.
Furthermore, the jury found that Hardie had induced the child to perform a sexual act, forced the child to watch a pornographic film, and committed additional sexual assaults.
These allegations paint a disturbing picture of the abuse that the victim endured, and the conviction underscores the severity of the crimes committed.
It is important to note that Hardie was also charged with other offences involving a second child, but the jury acquitted him of two of these charges.
These charges involved similar allegations of lewd and indecent practices spanning from 1991 to 1999, but the evidence was not sufficient for a conviction on those counts.
Following the guilty verdict, the court deferred sentencing for Hardie until October 26.
Meanwhile, he was remanded in custody, pending the final determination of his sentence.
