AJAY DHALLIWAL FROM STROUND AVOIDS JAIL AFTER FILMING NAKED CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN CHELTENHAM
In July 2017, Ajay Dhalliwal, an 18-year-old from North Woodchester, narrowly escaped imprisonment after he was found guilty of secretly filming naked children and adults for his own sexual gratification.
Dhalliwal pleaded guilty to the possession of indecent images at three different locations.
He recorded another individual engaging in private acts in an attempt to fulfill his sexual desires at The Fifth Dimension gym in Stroud, between August 2014 and March 2015.
In addition, he admitted to similar offenses at River Island in Cribbs Causeway Shopping Centre near Bristol from September to October 2016, and at Cirencester Leisure Centre between November 1 and November 8, 2016.
His arrest followed an incident at Cirencester Leisure Centre, where police caught him filming a woman and her young daughter inside a changing room cubicle while they were unclothed.
At Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 17, Dhalliwal was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for two years.
He was also subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) lasting five years and was placed on the sex offenders register for the next 10 years.
The SHPO restricts Dhalliwal’s activities, and any breach of this order could result in a separate penalty of up to five years in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £140 and costs of £85.
