MAN JAILED FOR STRANGLING AND CONTROLLING EX

Aiden Jones, aged 29 and a resident of Caerphilly, was convicted by a jury after a trial for deliberately strangling his former partner.

Jones, whose address is Maes Y Graig Street, Gilfach, denied any involvement in the crime.

Instead, he admitted to exerting controlling and coercive behaviour.

During proceedings at Cardiff Crown Court, Judge Eugene Egan sentenced him to two years in prison.

Additionally, Jones was subject to a five-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim.

The incident occurred in 2023.

Following his release from incarceration, he was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge.
