STEPNEY MAN JAILED AFTER BRUTAL SEXUAL ASSAULT AND DARING ESCAPE
A man from Stepney named Ahad Ali has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after being convicted of multiple serious offences, including four counts of rape, false imprisonment, threats to kill, and sexual assault by penetration. The incident began when Ali made an online booking with a female escort, aged in her 40s, who was working for an escort agency.
She went to Ali’s flat in the evening, but once inside, Ali forcibly pushed her into his bedroom, locked the door, and threatened her with a knife, holding it to her throat.
He then proceeded to rape her four times while threatening to kill her if she did not comply.
During the attack, the victim managed to call a taxi driver for help and scream for assistance, but Ali managed to seize the phone.
The taxi driver then called the police to the address.
In his attempt to escape, Ali jumped from a seventh-floor window, which resulted in fractures to his arm and leg.
He was arrested after spending ten days in hospital.
The police charges against him were supported by evidence from statements and mobile phone analysis.
The investigation was led by DC Stav Georgiou-Moran from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command, who described Ali as a "predatory individual who targeted a vulnerable female." The judge at Woolwich Crown Court sentenced Ali to 12 years in prison for his actions.
The authorities praised the victim for her bravery in giving evidence against him and emphasized the importance of victims reporting sexual violence.
