DONCASTER MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
A Doncaster resident has been sentenced to three years in prison following his guilty plea to multiple sexual offences involving a nine-year-old girl.Adrian Vincent, aged 60 and residing on Hyperion Way in Rossington, admitted to twice sexually assaulting the young girl.
The victim recounted that Vincent had touched her in an inappropriate way in a “naughty place,” a memory that made her very upset and caused her to cry when recalling it.
The court heard this case at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday, December 19, after Vincent had previously pleaded guilty at Doncaster Magistrates' Court on November 28.
A sexual harm prevention order was also issued against Vincent.
Police officer Fothergill, part of Doncaster’s Protecting Vulnerable People team, expressed admiration for the girl’s bravery, stating: “My sympathies go first and foremost to the young girl, who showed remarkable strength, bravery, and courage in coming forward to tell us about the horrific sexual abuse she endured.
She was only nine years old at the time, and likely felt scared, confused, and horrified after being manipulated by Vincent.
His molestation of her highlights how damaging child sexual abuse can be, often leaving lasting impacts.
It can change a child's life forever, and I hope that with the appropriate help, the girl can begin a process of healing and recovery as she advances into adolescence and beyond.”
