ADRIAN BRYANS FROM WANSTROW FACES JAIL OVER CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN TAUNTON
In November 2016, a man from Wanstrow, identified as Adrian Bryans, was brought before the courts in Taunton following serious allegations related to the possession of indecent images of children.Bryans, residing on Wesley Close in Wanstrow, appeared at Taunton Crown Court where he faced multiple charges concerning the possession of explicit material involving minors.
During the hearing on November 14, Bryans, aged 54, pleaded guilty to three counts: one of possessing Category A images, which are considered the most severe, along with one count each of possessing Category B and Category C images.
These images and videos were said to have been created over a period spanning from July 27, 2015, to December 12 of the previous year.
The prosecution, led by Caroline Bolt, revealed that the seized material amounted to hundreds of images and videos, described as being in the 'triple figures,' indicating a significant collection of illicit content.
The court proceedings were temporarily adjourned to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, which would help determine the appropriate punishment.
However, Judge David Ticehurst issued a stark warning to Bryans, stating, "The most likely outcome for you is that you will go sent to prison.
You have written me a letter saying you do not deem yourself to be dangerous to children – but of course you are.
What on earth do you think is happening to the children who are being abused for your sexual gratification?" Following the hearing, Bryans was released on bail after agreeing to sign the sexual offenders’ register.
He is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on December 13, where a judge will decide his fate based on the severity of his crimes and the evidence presented.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child abuse images, and the serious legal consequences faced by those found guilty of such offenses.
