ADAM SHARIF PLEADS GUILTY TO HARASSMENT AFTER BOMBARDING EX WITH 400 PHONE CALLS
A man bombarded his ex with 400 phone calls after their relationship ended, a court heard.
Adam Sharif, of Park Drive, Gledholt, pleaded guilty to harassment.
Kirklees magistrates heard that his two-year relationship with Shamaikha Hussain ended acrimoniously last October.
She then began to receive phone calls from Sharif and in November these turned nasty.
Vanessa Jones, prosecuting, said: “Some of these were not very pleasant.
At one point she got a phone call at the train station.
“She answered and he said: ‘Why are you talking to these clowns?’ “She was scared because she thought he could see her and felt very vulnerable waiting for the train.” The court was told that Miss Hussain continued to receive contact from her ex despite changing her mobile number.
Sonia Kidd, mitigating, said that she client had found out that Miss Hussain was pregnant and was trying to ascertain what the situation was.
Magistrates made a one-year restraining order banning Sharif from contacting Miss Hussain or going to her Batley home.
He must also pay £100 compensation to her as well as £150 court costs.
