ABERDEEN MAN JAILED FOR THIRD-TIME POSSESSION OF INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A man named Adam Koltowski, aged 50, has been sentenced to 18 months in jail and has been placed on the Sex Offender’s Register after being caught with indecent images of children for the third time. The images included material involving very young girls and boys aged three to 13 engaging in sexual acts with each other and with adult males, as reported by Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
The police investigation was triggered by a tip-off from the National Child Abuse Investigation Unit, which led to a search of Koltowski's Aberdeen home.
During the search, officers discovered a laptop containing approximately two dozen images, including six deemed to be Category A, the most serious type.
Koltowski pleaded guilty to making or taking indecent or pseudo-photographs of children between July 16, 2020, and October 27, 2020.
His legal representative, Ian Hingston, acknowledged the reprehensible nature of his actions but emphasized that he was otherwise a hard-working person who may have sought solace on the internet following alcohol consumption.
The sheriff criticized Koltowski for showing little remorse and reiterated the seriousness of his repeated offending despite previous court actions.
Given his past convictions in 2008 and 2017, the sheriff felt that a custodial sentence was the only appropriate punishment.
