ADAM JACKSON FROM PORT CARLISLE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING 13-YEAR-OLD GIRLS IN CUMBRIA
In a case that has shocked the local community of Port Carlisle and the wider Cumbria region, Adam Jackson, a 21-year-old man, has been convicted of engaging in sexual activities with two underage girls, both aged just 13. The legal proceedings, held at Carlisle Crown Court, revealed disturbing details about Jackson’s misconduct, which spanned over a year and involved multiple victims.According to court records, Jackson, who was 19 at the time, initiated a relationship with one of the girls shortly after her 13th birthday. This relationship persisted for approximately 18 months, during which Jackson engaged in sexual acts with her on multiple occasions. The girl later testified to police that she always consented to the sexual encounters, but her reasons were deeply troubling. She explained that Jackson’s temper often intimidated her, and she was afraid of the consequences if she refused his advances. This testimony highlighted the coercive environment that Jackson created, which effectively undermined any genuine consent.
Jackson’s criminal record includes nine counts of sexual activity with a minor. The charges were divided between two victims: three counts involving one girl and six involving the other. The court heard that Jackson’s relationship with the second girl began just weeks after she turned 13, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior. The offences against the second girl took place between January 2012 and June 2013, while those involving the first girl occurred during the same period and into August 2013.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court took measures to protect the community and prevent further offenses. Jackson was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison. Furthermore, he was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period of ten years. The court also issued a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which restricts his activities and movements, and explicitly barred him from working with children or vulnerable adults. These measures aim to mitigate the risk of reoffending and safeguard potential future victims.
Prior to sentencing, Jackson was remanded in custody to undergo psychological assessments and background checks. His sentencing was scheduled for February 14, following his guilty plea at Carlisle Crown Court. The case has garnered significant attention in the local area, raising concerns about the safety of children and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in tackling such serious crimes.
