STANWELL MAN SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES
A 47-year-old man from Stanwell has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found unanimously guilty by a jury of rape and numerous child sexual offences.Adam Bench, aged 47, of Stanwell, received an 18-year sentence with an extended license of four years at Reading Crown Court on November 21.
The investigation involved Thames Valley Police and the Metropolitan Police into reports of rape and child sexual offences in Windsor and West Drayton.
Bench committed multiple sexual offences against children in West Drayton from 2010 to 2022, and was arrested by the Metropolitan Police on December 17, 2022.
He later sexually assaulted a child on multiple occasions in Windsor, leading to his arrest on December 6, 2024, and subsequent charges.
During his trial, he was found guilty of seven counts of sexual activity with a female under 16, six counts of sexual assault of a female under 13, four counts of rape of a female over 16, two counts of assault of a female child under 13 by penetration, and one count of inciting a female child under 16 to engage in sexual activity.
He was acquitted of one count related to inciting a child under 13.
The sentencing followed an eight-day trial at Reading Crown Court, with the jury's verdict made on September 17.
Detective Constable Danielle Baker of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit emphasized the bravery of the victims and highlighted the severity of Bench's actions, noting that his offending began 15 years ago.
The investigation demonstrated the possibility of lengthy sentences for such crimes, and Thames Valley Police assured support for victims.
