Twenty-eight-year-old Aaron Parry concealed videos and photographs within an application on his mobile device, which he attempted to delete when police confronted him.

He appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 8, and pleaded guilty to five charges, having previously denied them.

Prosecutor Lottie Tyler informed the court that law enforcement agencies received information indicating that indecent images had been uploaded online by a user named Parryboy158 via the streaming platform Kick on March 13, 2023.

The police traced the IP address to a property in Lincolnshire, where Parry previously resided with a former partner.

Officers later located Parry at a car boot sale.

According to Ms Tyler, Parry was behaving strangely and was playing with his mobile phone at the time.

When he refused to hand over the device, officers removed it, suspecting he was trying to hide evidence.

Further inspection revealed that the images were stored within a calculator app set up to conceal files.

Authorities discovered a total of 112 images classified as Category A, including 59 videos and 53 still images; 29 images fell under Category B, comprising three videos and 26 stills; and nine images were categorized as Category C, with one video and eight still images.

Category A content involves penetrative sexual acts, sexual acts with animals, or sadism, while Category B relates to non-penetrative sexual activity.

Category C images do not fit into the previous two categories.

Additionally, police found 19 videos and one still image labeled as 'extreme.' During police interviews, Parry claimed he believed the material had been downloaded from TikTok by a 10-year-old girl in his family, who had been using his phone.

Defence lawyer Richard Boucher argued that the app used to hide the images was too complex for a child to operate.

Boucher further stated that Parry was honest about his actions, admitting he had downloaded the images.

Parry admitted to possessing indecent photographs of a child across Category C between August 4, 2022, and February 21, 2023; Category B between October 22, 2022, and January 7, 2023; and Category A between August 29, 2022, and February 24, 2023.

He also confessed to possessing a prohibited image of a child and an extreme pornographic image involving a dog, both on December 20, 2023.

Originally, Parry pleaded not guilty, with a trial scheduled before he changed his plea to guilty.

He provided an address at Jubilee Walk, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
