Erdington Rapist
Aaron Hadley, an 18-year-old resident of Erdington, was recently convicted of a series of brutal crimes that shocked the local community and drew widespread media attention. The Birmingham Crown Court handed down a sentence of ten years in prison after finding him guilty on multiple counts related to violent assaults and sexual offenses.

According to court records, Hadley's crimes took place on the night of October 31st, with the incidents spanning across the towns of Tamworth and Birmingham. The first victim, a 19-year-old woman, was assaulted inside a bar located on Market Street in Tamworth. The attack was described as violent and unprovoked, leaving the woman shaken and injured. Less than an hour later, Hadley targeted a 17-year-old girl on George Street, where he committed a rape. During this assault, he wielded crutches as a weapon, which he used to threaten and harm his victim. It was noted that Hadley was wearing a leg brace at the time, and the crutches were part of his mobility aid.

In addition to these sexual offenses, Hadley also attacked another woman during the same night, rendering her temporarily unconscious. Witnesses reported that he left her lying on the street before fleeing the scene. Furthermore, he assaulted a man who attempted to assist the injured woman, adding to the severity of his violent behavior that night. Despite the multiple assaults, the court acquitted Hadley of two charges of sexual assault, which was a point of contention during the proceedings.

Police officials, including Detective Constable Beth Otter, publicly commended the victims for their courage and resilience in coming forward. She emphasized that justice had been served and highlighted the importance of community support in such cases. The case has also brought to light the disturbing aspect of Hadley's use of crutches during the assaults, raising concerns about the violence inflicted while he was on mobility aids. The community continues to process the impact of these events, and the legal proceedings have underscored the importance of vigilance and support for victims of violence.
